The short version

Who we are

Coffee Games is made by Grand Cru Ventures LLC. If you have a question about this policy, please see our support page.

What stays on your device

Your gameplay (streaks, scores, settings, which puzzles you have played) is stored on your device, and it is included in your normal device backup. We do not keep a copy on any server of ours. We do not operate a server that stores user accounts, because there are no user accounts.

What is collected, and by whom

WhatWho receives itWhy
Anonymous usage events (for example: a puzzle was started, a puzzle was completed, a result was shared) TelemetryDeck To understand which features are used and to find problems. Sent in aggregate. No name, no email, no precise location, no advertising identifier.
Advertising data (IP address, ad interactions, approximate location derived from IP) Google AdMob To show ads that keep the free game free. Ads are always non-personalised. We do not request tracking permission and do not read your advertising identifier. All ads are rated for general audiences.
Purchase status (whether you own the upgrade) Apple To process the one-time purchase and remove ads. Apple handles payment; we never see card details.
Game Center identity, if you use it (player ID, nickname, scores) Apple Optional leaderboards and badges. Managed by Apple. You can turn Game Center off in iOS Settings.

Advertising, and why you will not see a tracking prompt

Many free apps ask permission to track you across other companies' apps and websites, so they can show personalised ads. We do not ask, because we do not do it. Our apps never read your device's advertising identifier, and every ad request is non-personalised. That earns us less per ad. We think it is the right trade for the people who play our games.

If you are in the United Kingdom, the European Economic Area, or Switzerland, you will still see a consent screen from Google before ads appear. That is a separate legal requirement about how ads are served, and you can change your answer at any time from within the app.

Buying the one-time upgrade removes ads entirely; the ad code no longer runs.

Children

Our games are made for adults and are not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or object to the use of personal information, and to complain to a regulator. Because we do not hold accounts or identifiers that point to you, in most cases there is nothing for us to retrieve, but you are welcome to contact us and we will help.

California: we do not sell personal information. Our ads are non-personalised and we do not read advertising identifiers.

Changes to this policy

If we change what the apps collect, we will update this page and its effective date before the change ships.
